The Brief
I have worked with Cyrius for years, and have helped with creating websites, digital and print assets for both their clients and internally. I have worked within their brand guidelines, creating documents, presentations and other digital assets, updating their brand guide and managing their design assets.
It was now time to update their other business, Ryde Recording Studio, to Cyrius MediaWorks. Whilst Cyrius has a focus on design, development and business needs, Cyrius MediaWorks would focus on video and audio production. And with that they needed a fresh new website that mirrored Cyrius, but with its own flair.
The project took place over two weeks.
The Goal
To create a modern, professional website that establishes Cyrius MediaWorks as a distinct brand while maintaining a strong visual connection to Cyrius.
Research
Since I have worked extensively with Cyrius since their rebrand, using their new brand guidelines to create documents, presentations and other digital and print assets, I had a good understanding of their branding and would be able to create a look and feel that mirrored the Cyrius website without copying it entirely.
I was given the copy that was to go on the website, and it was up to me to figure out the best way to display the content and services. The goal of refreshing the website was to attract clients who need a recording studio - musicians, businesses who needed content creation or film/video services. In order to do that the website was to appear modern and professional.
I researched the website of the main competitors to Cyrius MediaWorks, taking inspiration from their information hierarchy and design, seeing what I thought worked well and what didn’t in order to create a competitive website.
